What do the Dissonant Whispers 5e Spells Do?
This Dissonant Whispers 5e spell will cause you to whisper a discordant melody tone, which will only be heard by one creature of your choice within 60 feet range. The creature that hears this whisper will wrack itself with terrible pain. The target creature must make a Wisdom save throw to guard itself.
If the save was successful, then the target takes half of the maximum amount of damage and doesn’t need to move away. A naturally deafened creature automatically succeeds on the save. On a failed save, the creature takes 3d6 psychic damage and must immediately use its reaction, if available, to maneuver as far as its speed allows faraway from you.
The creature doesn’t enter the obviously dangerous ground, like a fireplace or a pit. Once you cast this spell at higher levels, employ a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, thereby increases the damage by 1d6 for every slot level above 1st.
